Venue - Hindu Temple Social Hall
Time - 1 Hour ( Competition starts at 2pm )
All the participants need time to settle down and start. If you are not present in the hall by 2pm you will not be allowed to participate.
Age Group
Group A - Below 6 yrs
Group B - 6 yrs to 9 yrs
Group C - 10 yrs to 13 yrs
Group D - 14 yrs to 17 yrs
Kolam Competition Age group -- Adults above 21 years of age.
Rules - KIDS ART COMPETITION
THEME - Life and Culture in the villages of Tamil Nadu
1. Participants will have 1 hour to finish their art piece.
2. Any color or art medium can be used ( Color pencil, graphite pencil, Water, Acrylic, Oil , pallet etc )
3. Participants need to bring with them all necessary accessories and materials including pencils, colors, erasers, scratch
paper etc.
4. Tamil Sangam will provide art paper to the participants, size of art paper shall be 11 inch x 14 inch
5. Use of scale, geometrical instruments is acceptable. Refrain from using stencils.
6. Scores are obtained by following ways
a) Finishing b) Selection of Colors c) imagination
d) Contrast e) Creativity f) Neatness g) presentation h) Theme
7. The winners from each age group shall be judged based on the above criteria only.
8. Parents can be present in the hall but not help the participants during the competition.
9. Judges decision will be final. Results will be announced on 4/15/2017 during the new year celebration
VANNA KOLAM COMPETITION
THEME - FESTIVALS OF INDIA
1) Kolam art should not exceed the size of 3 ft x 4 ft..Mat boards will be provided for all the contestants.
2) Lead participant in an entry should be at least 21 years old. All others participants in the group need to be 15 year old or above.
3) A group may have no more than two participants.
4) Competition dates duration – 2 hours
1. April 2nd 2017 , Sunday - 2PM to 4PM.
2. Your art should be completed by 4pm and be ready for judging.
5) Please bear in mind that your Kolam art should not offend the viewers and is presentable to viewers of all ages.
6) Participants need to bring all the required materials for their Rangoli. No liquids colors, paints and spray colors permitted. Flowers,grass, edible, natural materials and colors can be used.
7) Kolam/Rangoli should be prepared from scratch on the provided space. No part of the art can be pre-made before arriving to the competition.
8) Viewers votes and judges opinion combined will determine the winners.
9) Top 3 winners will be announced at a brief prize distribution ceremony at Tamil Sangam Chittirai Thiruvizha held on April 15th Sunday . Participants are required to be present at this ceremony.
10) Multiple entries by one person are not allowed.
11) Lead participant is responsible for all communication with the group. Organizers will only communicate with Lead participant.
12) In case of any additions in the rules and regulations or any changes, Organizers will contact the lead participants either by email or contact number.
13) Judging will be based on the following Criteria
1) Overall Appearance and appeal
2) Design/Theme
3) Details and clarity in Rangoli art
4) Color combination
5) Creativity, New ideas
